VOICE
Our branch is fortunate to have talented and passionate voice teachers who offer a welcoming environment for singers of all ages. Whether students are preparing for performances, exams, or simply singing for enjoyment, our teachers support each individual’s musical journey.
Marlene Carr is an experienced voice and piano teacher with over 40 years of teaching and performing across Europe and North America. She holds a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the National University of Freiburg in Germany and began her professional career in 1984.
Warm, patient, and highly versatile, Marlene works comfortably with all ages—from young children to adults—helping each student feel supported and confident. She has a natural ability to connect with children, shaped in part by raising five of her own.
Her expertise spans classical voice, opera, musical theatre, and pop, with a special focus on German vocal repertoire, which she coaches throughout the Fraser Valley and Vancouver. She also draws on her background as a nurse and certified lifestyle and diabetes coach to support students with diverse learning and health needs.
Marlene continues to perform, sings with Philomusica, and brings a lifelong passion for music, health, and education to her private studio in Sardis, Chilliwack.
